The Murten / Morat Light Festival (Murten Licht-Festival in German) is an event where the old town of Murten is going to turn into a lighting show of superlatives. Visitors will enjoy artistic productions on buildings, in the streets and on the towers of the town will immerse them into a mysterious and magic world. Some artworks are also placed on the Murten Lake. During the Murten / Morat Light Festival, you can meander through the streets of Murten and discover animations combining sounds and lights. A projection done on the wall of the primary school, located in front of the Berntor, will engrave the main animation as well as a music and light spectacle in the German church. Some local artists will also present on several places along the Murten Lake their animations and light messages. The 2024 edition of the slowUp Murtensee will take place Sunday April 28. SlowUp is a one-day free event where the road around the Lake Murten or Murteensee (in German) or Lac de Morat (in French) is closed to cars. The SlowUp name come from the word “slow down – pleasure up”. This event is part of a network of 19 SlowUp events in Switzerland that gather more than 400 000 participants every year. This event allows to hikers, bikers and skaters to discover this beautiful area at their own rhythm on a flat trail around the Lake of Murten / Morat for 32 kilometers. SlowUp Murten is a nice opportunity to discover the landscapes of the Vully area and its vineyards. Various events and food stands are organized on the circuit during the day to entertain participants of all ages. The 2024 edition of the Fribourg International Film Festival will take place March 15 to 24. The Fribourg International Film Festival (Festival International de Films de Fribourg in French) shorted as FIFF aims to promote exchange between all cultures through the medium of film. The Fribourg International Film Festival fosters achievements that provoke reflection and invite dialogue. FIFF is a festival that sheds light on blind spots, reveals new talents and puts the history of cinema in context with innovative angles. It is focused on selected movies from Asia, Africa and Latin America. The Grand Prize is the main award of the Fribourg International Film Festival. The Festival takes place every year in March and takes part in projects all year long. It is one of the main yearly events for Fribourg. FIFF employs nine persons on a yearly contract.
